Our company is searching for an experienced and reliable developer. S/he will work directly with our lead developer and the project manager and will be responsible for performing a number of web development duties.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly organised professional capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks within teams across time zones.
Responsibilities
- Build custom or themed WordPress sites from scratch as per project requirements
- Work with the senior developer to add new features to existing and newly implemented websites
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Perform browser compatibility assessments and testings
- Maintain websites including testing and identifying technical problems and troubleshooting
- Perform upgrades, maintain existing websites, and implement custom functionality
- Coordinate with third-party support on troubleshooting issues as needed
- Conduct any API integrations between different platforms
- Provide programming language help and support to other team members
- Diagnose and correct any JavaScript, jQuery and JSON script issues
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience as a developer
- Comfortable working with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery
- Extensive experience developing websites using WordPress themes and custom for desktop and mobile
- Comprehensive knowledge of WordPress plugins such as WPML, facetWP, Revolution Slider, Gravity Forms, Advanced Custom Fields, Page Builders like Visual Composer, Beaver Builder and SiteOrigin
- Experience with using WordPress hooks and filters
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
- Familiarity with the following AJAX or angular JS and CSS media queries
- Solid experience in site audit and optimisation for page loading speed
- Experience in e-commerce integration with WordPress
- Ability to work autonomously with creative guidance
- Excellent organisation, problem-solving and time management skills
- Familiarity with the following software or similar: CapsuleCRM, Trello, Everhour, LastPass, Slack
Nice to have
- Ability to write plugins or some back-end knowledge would be looked upon favourably
- Familiar with WP Engine or a similar WordPress hosting provider
- Has worked with Uncode or Astra themes and/or Beaver Builder
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager
- Ability to implement code for online marketing campaigns such as SEO, PPC and social
- Experienced in cPanel administration, WHM and domain management
- Understanding of web servers and how databases work
- Familiar with Sketch and/or similar prototyping tools
- Experience working with law firms or within the legal industry
- Knowledgeable on using version control service like Github or Bitbucket
- Experience on using CSS preprocessors like .SASS and .SCSS
- Experience on creating websites development tools using Grunt and NPM
